So, I'm paying to get 3 suits tailored for my 3 mates who will be my groomsmen later on this year.

The fabrics will be ordered from huddersfield because I've read that they make excellent english cloth and are reasonably priced. The cloth that I chose is the Charcoal worsted 10oz 100% wool. I wanted to ensure that the suits will be decent and durable so that they'll be able to reuse it.

It hits shit creek when one of them refuses and insists on getting a wool/polyester blend. Naturally I told him about the merits of going 100% wool (breathability, classy, resists stains/smells/fire) however he's adamant. He wants the wrinkle resistance and easy maintenance of a blended suit.

Since they'll be wearing matching suits I don't want 3 shiny groomsmen.

What is the maximum % of polyester before the the material stops looking 100% wool.

My fiancee/wife will laugh at us if I don't find a solution. Please help [IMG]

p.s. I can't have the idiot assassinated like Bin Laden.

Tell him that quality wool will also resist wrinkling, which is true. Thus the one advantage of a blend goes away. You could also make the point by asking why no makers of any decent quality use anything with any polyester in it.

And you're in charge, aren't you? Tell him he's getting a proper suit.

Don't negotiate with Terrorists. It is your wedding plus the fact that you are the logical and rational one, plus you are paying. Don't compromise your principles especially when you are completely right.

This guy sounds like a tit. Lie to him. Tell him you spent a long time with your tailor finding a matching cloth with a bit of polyester. Emphasise how much hard work this was. How many hours you spent leafing through swatch catalogues to get just the right look. And how, finally, you managed to do it. Get the other groomsmen in on it, if you need to. When the suit starts to crease, tell him he's clearly completely fucking inexperienced with suits (which is obviously true) and that he has to learn to look after it properly, like a big man. This isn't just any old blend (remember how much work it was?). Lastly, it's your wedding. If he doesn't like it, find another groomsman.

I hope you were not expecting everything to go according to plan....Give the guy an option either do the right thing or get someone to stand in his place. In fact kick his butt out now!!!!! If you are buying the suit I will stand in...[IMG] There is always one in the crowd.......[IMG]

Say he can pay for the suit, he will soon be quiet. The ingratitude he has is staggering.

Even if he hates the idea of wrinkling so much, he could wear the suit three times (and actually look respectable), until it starts to get the slightest wrinkles, then throw it away and be no worse off. The stupid of some people pains me.
