Stumbled across this yet to launch menswear label Fifth&Brannan on kickstarter. Apparently it was written up in the local San Francisco paper.
I can't vouch for the quality of the designs or anything else, but at the least the website is an interesting read.
Seems to echo some of the difficulties SFers have had trying to get a fashion startup going.

There's a funny bit with a picture of the factory screw up. Who would sew a sleeve on backwards?

The designer needs 8 grand to launch.
Anyone with disposable income want to pledge? Seems like it could be styleforum approved one day...

I'm in no way related to the company, not shilling.
Just thought it was interesting/cool.

I find it strange that she is showing off her process and what she doesn't know. I guess it's a good thing she's not looking for traditional investors, I suspect they would not be impressed with her limitations.

With that said, I respect her honesty and motivation.
