Supplements to increase energy/concentration

Anyone take any supplements that they find increases their energy levels or makes it easier to focus/concentrate?

A couple to consider: Cognitive/ Focus Acetyl-L-carnitine Gingko biloba Fish oil (many benefits, including cognitive) Energy Royal Jelly Maca Cayenne Pepper Vitamin B (mostly energy, some cognitive) Ashwagandha Milk Thistle Ubiquinol/ CoQ10 I've taken all of them except the last one. Your mileage may vary, but hopefully you'll notice at least limited results or better.

What are you trying to concentrate/focus on?

As far as energy levels go, I could probably go on and on about eating properly and working out regularly but I'm guessing you've considered that already...?

Concentrate/focus on work, homework, studying, writing, etc. Things of that nature.

I work out regularly and try to eat healthy most of the time, but it's difficult for me to actually get to doing these things.

I'm not sure if you've considered a PWO supplement, but I know that after I've taken my pre-workout stimulant I'm on the ball and focused for a good 2-3 hours after as well.

The only problem is taking it in the evening when I assume you'll be studying/writing because it may affect your sleep patterns.

Can you please expand on this "coffee"? From what I hear it's very hard to find and costs way too much because it only grows in Canada.

Coffee is a popular brewed drink prepared from roasted seeds, commonly called coffee beans, of the coffee plant.

From wikipedia. "Popular" is obviously a funny joke made by the author as it's a quite rare seed. Coffee is disgusting and has to be consumed continually throughout the day to get the desired effect. Also, I'm looking for something without an type of crash or hangover.

Will be hard but if you don't like the taste, you can always try caffeine pills or read about EC's stack but it's not something I would recommend for others goals than working out/dieting.

Avoid coffee/ caffeine all together. You will crash, and wear your body out in the meantime. It's a fake, harmful buzz. At best, maybe go with naturally occurring caffeine but even that is inferior to the other stuff out there. I'm still going to write a "review" of the supplements I posted before. But to answer your immediate question, they work great collectively. Even 3 or 4 of those supplements in congruence should lead to a great daily "bounce" and increased mental ability. I tend to overdo it, you don't need to take 10-15 supps a day to start feeling positive effects. I'd start with Fish Oil and a Vitamin B supplement (or a multi). After you lay down that foundation, start taking Acetyl-L-carnitine and maybe Milk Thistle. If you're looking into supplements, the suggestion of drinking a bunch of coffee is detrimental and asinine. But who ever mentioned exorcise and diet IS right. That's really crucial to overall healthy living. Supplements will give you a nice, extra perk though.
