Super 120s and Super 120s Flannel- what makes the difference?

Looking at STP, Im seeing two Samuelsohns, both are super 120s, but one is Flannel. Can anyone explain what the difference between Super 120s wool flannel and Super 120s wool is? Is the wool simply groomed differently or somesuch?

flannel is longer, uncombed if you will, whilst the latter wool is combed and thus smooth. Flannel is a winter material whilst the other is not necessarily heavy weight. Hope that helps

Well, there is woollen flannel and there is worsted flannel, and they differ somewhat. I don't know which of the two the STP Samuelsohn suit is, but I'd guess it's the latter. In that case, the wool is, in fact, combed, although a nap is created as well. Thus, although it will look fuzzier than a smooth worsted, you will be able to discern the weave. It's more like a cross between smooth worsted and a true woollen flannel. Yarn number (Super 120s in this case) is somewhat independent of the flannel/worsted distinction.
