http://www.bnelsonshoes.com/ is where I have sent close to 20 pairs of shoes to have flush mounted toe plates. $35 installed. They do a great job. Had Lobb in NYC add toe taps and whoever they use screwed up the shoes and now I am waiting for a replacement. Don't skimp...use the best.

I also recommend B. Nelson's. They do a great job and price is very reasonable.

Their is the nickle half-moon type plates.

I have yet to find a place that does the brass/copper trapezoidal ones.

I only have 1 pair of shoes done by Lobb in NY. It came out about the same. So can't really say which is better, IIRC Lobb only charged $30 as oppose to Nelson's $35.

WTF kind of advice is that. He isn't asking about the same pair of Kenneth Cole shoes that you wear. I'm sure the OP is referring to a pair of Goodyear welted shoes. Maybe they are some Lobb's that cost $1500 and he wants to take proper care of them in order to prolong the $300 resoling fee from Lobb.

AFAIK there's two - B. Nelson and Olympic Shoe Repair. Anyone else will tell you that they'll do it if you bring the plates.

Does anyone have a couple pics of Nelson's work? I'm in PA and would love to send several pairs his way. I couldn't find any descriptive pics on the website linked about. Thanks.
