What brands should I be looking at for summer sweaters? I'd like something that I can wear on its own for casual dressing in the summer. The few I have seen are usually a very light material (cashmere??) and really soft. They almost look more like a really nice long sleeve tshirt rather than a sweater. They are definately still sweaters though.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Go for lighter knits from the same brands that yuou usually source from. Jil Sander and Lucien Pellat Finet have made some excellent lightweight cashmere, cahsmere/silk, cash/cotton sweaters over the years, and basically every maker, especially Italian ones do lightweight sweaters in merino, too.

I have several lightweight sweaters in Sea Island cotton by various makers.

As someone who's lived nearly all his life in the American South, I have but one question: What the hell's a summer sweater?

I like Etro's linen sweaters. Malo has some really nice airy cashmere blend stuff as well.
