My workhorse Banana Republic linen pants have given me 5 summers of near constant service. I darned them last year in 2 places to get one more summer out of them, but it is now time to retire them. Has anyone purchased linen pants recently? Care to share a link?

I need to pick up a short sleeve casual (untucked) pink oxford shirt. This can be paired with linen pants and almost any color of shorts. Has anyone purchased something line this recently? Care to share a link?

Barring these 2 items, my 2012 summer wardrobe will be unchanged from last summer.

There isn't all that much summer left, in the grand scheme of things. But if you still need your linen pants, Brooks has a few cotton/linen blends on sale right now. I stocked up on Milanos a few months back, and *******'nballs have been thanking me ever since, especially give the 100+ degree weeks we've been having.

If you want pure linen, I would second the PRL recommendation.

Epault Walt Linens and Chambray pants = boss. I have most all colors and I love them.
JRD has some nice brand new 33's for sale on B/S for cheap. I'd Kop asap if you are interested in a badass summer pant.

Perhaps this opens up a front to a more philosophically intriguing question. Can linen pants ever be said to be "badass?" Even the best ones, cut to perfection, give off kind of an old-mannish vibe a la Tommy Bahama. Perhaps not as much so as linen shirts, but still.

I have several pairs, including linen jeans ( Etro).
My newest pair is from Mabitex and is very trim with
maybe a 9 inch rise on a 36" waist. I love them.

100% linen pants that are appropriate for the office? Lands' End has a few with subtle patterns.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
