Summer loafers

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a pair of loafers for this summer. I already have tassels in burgundy and sleek penny loafers in dark brown suede, both lined. I need loafer which pair well with sport coats and mainly linen trousers (just a couple of cotton ones), and sometimes with beige/sand/cream shorts & linen shirt. My first idea was that of going unlined, second was going polo suede, thus I targeted:
- Alden LHS
- Carmina Genova
- Gaziano & Girling Chadwick
On the sidelines Crockett&Jones Cavendish and JM Weston 180 (with a big question mark about sizes).

What do you suggest?

I was very sceptical about Meermin but the unlined lightweight loafers are simply superb, irrespective of price. As an unlined summer shoe to wear sockless I think this is a fantastic acquisition (I also have Alden/C&J/Vass loafers and am taking these into comparison with this statement).

Sounds like you're not really asking for opinions then. I like Meermin. Maybe a step below Carmina, maybe not. They're as comfortable as my Aldens, maybe even a slightly better fit.

But you sound like you know where to go to get advice. Go review the blog and let us know what you end up with.

I personally think the idea of quality is overrated and people should buy according to measures they can directly judge: namely how something looks and feels. Meermin is usually harder to break in, but if the last fits you and you like the style, I don't see why not.

I mostly wear Edward Green Picadillys with sport coats. All the loafers you named are nice though and can be worn with tailored clothing. I would just buy from a place that allows for returns since loafers can be harder to size than lace-ups

For Spring/Summer my all-around favorite is a loafer in light brown suede. Both light brown and sand colored suede pair well with lighter Summer colors yet the light brown offers the added benefit of being able to be worn into Fall. I currently wear the Crockett & Jones Cavendish in polo suede.

I forgot to mention that the Meermin loafers I am referring to are specifically classed as their Ultimate Loafer and are the softest shoe I have ever worn, with zero break in required. Much softer for me than the unlined Alden suede loafer.

Also, they're not sueded but I have a pair of unlined loafers from Isaia that were excellent from the first time I tried them on. Sizing is crazy (akin to Kiton) but I nailed it down after trying on something like 10 different sizes across different shoes from them.

I'm not sure who makes them for Isaia, and they weren't cheap, but if you're looking for higher quality stuffs and Meermin doesn't cut it, maybe check those out.

I see they have them in the suede variety. They were more expensive when I got them - I'm not sure if these are the unlined ones I have. Are they worth the $605? I can't speak to that:
