I had planned to wear a seersucker suit with a white shirt and a "tie to be determined" to a 5 PM outdoor wedding this Friday at which time, the temps should be in the mid to upper 80's (F).
The bride, however, recently updated her wedding website with the following direction.
I had an inkling that this was coming and had considered wearing a button collar white linen shirt under the seersucker but simply go tieless (inorite?) since there will likely be no ties in evidence.
Having read the specific direction provided above, what would anyone suggest?
I'm thinking cream (or light blue) linen pants and the aforementioned white linen long sleeve shirt. Would white bucks be out of line? If so, what then?
I've already been burned previously at a wedding with a nonspecific to nonexistent dress code. I was cajoled into wearing beach attire to a wedding and everyone else showed up in suits which, although they had no idea how to wear them, I turned out to be the sore thumb. Well, not counting the one other guy who actually wore shorts and flip flops.

Because this is an outdoor August wedding / reception and we anticpate the weather to be very hot, please cosider the following:
Gentlemen: We hope to see no suits at our wedding. You will not find them on anyone in the wedding party and so we hope that you too will keep the heat in mind and dress comfortably...
