I just called local store and was a bit baffled with the incompetency of the rep who answered my call. I tried to ask if i could make custom made trousers from the same fabric that i had just ordered a jacket. She said it can't be done even if they have the fabric available online(not for trousers but only the jacket). Is it possible? She also said that i can't return my custom made orders made online. Which is not true. I browsed their instore rep list and saw that i don't recognize 80% of the people there from over a year ago when i visited the store multiple times. List is not updated or they have made changes.

I am really happy about the jackets i received. Which were ordered through online. My main concern is that can i ever have trousers from suitsupply which are high waisted and classic silhouette. My first try was a disaster and have not wear them once and forgot to return.

I'm in Germany, and it's not urgent at all, really. I just decided that is what I would finally get this year, and went into town for a fitting (see above post) and now the fabrics are out. I'll wait. I've no black tie events planned this year, anyway. I just want my first dinner jacket.

On an unrelated note, one of the staff tried to upsell me buttons when i took my jacket in to be adjusted. She claimed that all the buttons on my garment were ruined, after being dry-cleaned. I explained that I haven't had it dry cleaned, but she was adamant that the iron had melted the buttons. I said I would look into it, and not to wait for her to source new buttons etc.

I just checked my casual jackets; and two of them have the exact same buttons, and same for my tweed waistcoat, which I bought new and has never been dry cleaned. I think that is just how these "casual" buttons look, no?

It finished off an extremely bizarre visit to SuitSupply.

Haha—what was her reaction when you told her you haven’t ever dry cleaned? Those buttons look great!

It might be that they can’t promise you the same bolt of fabric? Even with the same fabric code, different bolts might have slight differences.

But you can absolutely order MTM trousers online.

The problem is that the same fabric which is available for online mtm jacket is not available for trousers or for a complete suit. I was sure i would have gotten around this limitation by makin a custom made order instore. Which the sales rep declined and said that it's not possible for this fabric. I emailed them to be sure. Fabric itself isn't anything out or ordinary. It's Navy, wool and cashmere, 320g. 95% wool and 5% cashmere.

I would try to make some MTM trousers using the same fabric code (look on the label for that).

I went to the Stuttgart store this weekend and was supremely disappointed; the MTM “specialist” told me he would prefer I came back in the week as his colleague is better than him at it. I live over 2 hours away, and have my entire configuration saved. I simply needed the MTM adjustments made.

Obviously, I walked out.

living in Stuttgart , I just can say that the store gets worse and worse. Most of the good employees left the shop either working for another brand or are now in Munich..
A page ago you mentioned some
Jackets you have for sale. Can I see them somewhere ?

That's a great idea. I have one pair from Luxire. I might ask them if they can source the fabric. Do you have personal experience or knowledge how happy and resourceful MTM makers are for sourcing fabrics?

The supply chain crunch must be hitting them hard ... are you in an urgent need of a tuxedo? If you’re in the U.S., perhaps email Divij.com. They might be able to do remote fittings and get you an MTM tux quickly.
Is it really, though? They are filling up with new linen fabrics and other plain fabrics from this season, so I can't help but question their prioritization... ?

They explained to me once that they produce things in different factories, and the factories that make trousers don't sit on all the fabrics - that's why they don't make trousers in every fabric.

Could be bollocks though, who knows.

I have trousers from Cavour and they are much nicer and high waisted. Too bad I picked the wrong color.

Unless the changed the last part since I worked there that’s utter rubbish. Or they lied in training lol

I've noticed, all three fabrics are gone. The VBC 260gr was gone at the end of October, and the Reda 235gr a week or two ago. Disastrous to be out of proper tuxedo fabrics around this time of year...? The cotton one was removed a few days ago, but a cotton tuxedo is out of the question. Cotton won't hold dark colors well at all, especially around the seams.

Anyone know anything about a potential "refill" in the designer? Fabrics in general actually... This fall has been a massive disappointment in terms of selection.

Yep, they're totaly out of their black tuxedo fabrics (unless you look at the non in-house fabrics). They suffer from shortages of other popular fabrics too, the only flannel fabric available is a green one. Well, perhaps it was for the better. I went to another MtM store which I actually prefer (didn't want to pay too much for a tuxedo and SS tends to be cheaper, but it seems like they've hiked up their prices so much that the difference is negligible and I got a nicer fabric too).

I'm pretty sure that you can order any piece in the fabric you wish for. Although I can't say that I'm a 100% certain...

Same here in Stockholm. Seems like most of the older employees have left. The majority of the faces were unfamiliar to me.

Which MTM store did you go to? @Baked Potato

I too am in this mindset; if SS no longer has value, I will look elsewhere. If it’s 700-1000 euro for a dinner jacket, then loads of MTM places surely fall into this bracket. My challenge is, which?

Plenty of places still have lapels too thin, in general.

My go-to place is Blugiallo. They’re a Swedish company, but they do pop-ups abroad (they’ll be in London during early December, you can send me a pm if you’re interested). Their customer service is awesome and their prices are pretty comparable to SS (e.g. my tuxedo; SS’ standard black tuxedo fabric in 100% wool and full canvas would cost me approximately $950, Blugiallo’s wool/mohair cost approximately the same. They’re usually a tiny bit more expensive than SS, but not when it comes to tuxedos. SS’ wool/mohair blend would cost about $1500 and it barely has any mohair in it, compared to Blugiallo’s).

Their lapels are also much more balanced. They offer a regular and a wide option, which is balanced depending on your shoulder/chest circumference (I think SS always go with the same lapel widths, not taking other measurements into consideration, although I can’t swear on this). I think SS’ wide lapels look ridiculous on me, but Blugiallo’s wide option looks perfect.

EDIT: Added correct prices.Wrote the post a bit too quickly when on the subway earlier…

Anyone got the Mint green wool silk linen from custom made? Says the fabric weight is 114g/m which seems incredibly lightweight??

Going to guess that last year’s once in a lifetime Black Friday outlet sale won’t be happening again?
