I have a pair of wool cashmere blend trousers from E. Thomas that are pilling around the crotch. Has anyone had any experience with this or know of any solutions? I have worn the trousers twice, mostly sitting in the office with minimal walking. I don't believe its a sizing issue as I have other trousers in the same size from Suitsupply that haven't had any issues.

I’ve had the same issue with this pair of Wool Blake herringbone trousers.

It’s most likely a result of the fabric rubbing over whatever abrasive material your office chair or seat is made of. These fabric blends sound sophisticated and feel soft to the touch, but the drawback is they’re sensitive as hell. I suggest you purchase a pilling remover.

I have a similar problem with a pair. I am not sure if they're a wool-cashmere blend, but they're from a E. Thomas fabric as well. It is a coarser flannel. The fabric is from a lower end of E. Thomas or simply not suited for trousers.
Does it feel like wear? The type of fabric is one factor--but it also depends on the trousers fit and your physique. A tailor once told me that tighter pants and more muscular thighs increase this wear. He suggested having a "crotch saddle" installed (~$30 cost) and having trousers cut looser. Of course, a looser cut is not possible with OTR, but can be done with MTM.

Has suitsupply ever made a raincoat in tan/beige colour? I've seen navy and gray versions over the last couple years, but don't remember seeing one in tan/beige. Their jackets usually fit me well, and I'm wondering if I should wait until Fall to see if they come out with one, or just buy one elsewhere.

Do you like them fashion-length (mid thigh) or actually rain-protecting (past knee)? As they always do the former iirc.

I don't mind fashion length. I already own the cotton version in navy, but I would like a tan/beige raincoat - last couple seasons I only remember seeing a gray and navy version, no beige/tan. Not a fan of trench coats.

Is there a rep in this thread I can tag? Just wondering if these will be in stock soon? https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/trousers?oosPID=B5942IE
Just reach out to them through mail. Once did that as well for a coat I was putting off for too long and eventually was removed from the website. They managed to hook me up with one.

Another item with the same story they were able to tell me the stock of the physical stores. (of that particular item)

It is pilling. And fit probably plays a role as it is an OTR pair which for Suitsupply means that they are tight and my thighs are also more muscular. I do not think that a crotch saddle would help.

Apparently new raincoat coming in Piermonte fit. Not quite what I'm looking for unfortunately.

Some decent prices on Nordstrom rack for some SS pieces.

@noblekostas

Curious - is this one of the rare full canvas Washingtons? It's got a notch lapel instead of peak.

I didn't get the tag, but I check the thread so lucky you.

How did a SuSu suit end up on nordstrom???

The Washington came as half canvas with peak lapels and there's a full canvas version with notch if I remember. The basic one also had a ticket pocket most of the time.

In any case, the full canvas was really expensive but the lapels indicate it. If it has the original tags at the cuffs, it would say full canvas. 999$ base price is also a clue.

Also, absolutely ridiculous they say in the description it's a true to size, classic fit given that the Washington is extra slim fit.

SuSu has a deal with Nordstrom where I believe they have space in some Nordstrom stores and on Nordstrom's website.
