EU pricing is better than US/CA or the other way around? Honestly, I wonder why they have so many physical stores in the Netherlands to begin with? Interesting to know products sold per capita in their home country vs. a bigger market. I believe the US is their second largest foot print.

P.S. Perhaps, local Dutch laws favor domestic companies as far as rent, logistics, etc

EDIT: 24 stores in a country with a population 1/4 that of the UK or France. UK has 3 stores and France and Italy both have 1 each. Also only 1 store in Switzerland. It’s strange to me they have a store in Minsk, Belarus but not one in Nice or Geneva or Monaco

EDIT 2: Woohoo, just saw that their 5th store in Russia is being worked on - St. Petersburg

EU is much better than US. Reason for stores would be that they originated there so expanded within the country first. Expanding a business like that internationally is no small feat.

Right, but maintaining those 24 stores in a country of 18 million? Do the Dutch really need a Suitsupply physical store within 10 min. anywhere in the country?

I bought Navy DB Pure Cashmere jacket from the previous outlet. Now I got Single Pure Cashmere jacket under $250 USD :)

This is unusual that we normally get an outlet twice a year (Jan/July). Does anyone know why they suddenly threw this outlet in April?

the country is small but not that small...people don’t often go to another city to buy clothes...

@compuccesory I guess but I didn't see other brands go on huge sales or anything like this.

I stopped browsing around after Jan outlet and got an email from susu this morning. :hide:

I got trained in tiny city called zaltbommel in the Netherlands. It had nothing and it smelled like cow ****. The store was huge but traffic extremely low. I don’t know how they stay open.

I'm guessing since they don't put their merch on sale except through the outlet this is their only way to do a sale mid-season like this (either technically speaking, brand-consistency speaking, or both).

Anyone seen indications of new items added to the outlet today, as has occasionally happened in the past?

Right? Why not close 14 stores and leave 10 for themselves? Open in Edinburg, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, many places in Germany, Austria, Switzerland — places that will continue to have disposable income

During the lockdown only my former store in Stockholm is open in Europe

why would they need to close stores? I’m sure they have a better sight of their stores performance than people just making assumptions from abroad...

I think it’s just a matter of convenience, risk and capital requirements

When I went to my store two days ago they told me they can’t afford rent. So people just don’t go and the Stockholm store used to be pretty popular. I guess they got some deal to not pay employees (since it’s per hour based) and maybe a deal to not pay rent and save costs
