Is alteration included or extra cost?
I went to SS a few weeks ago to kill some time and wanted to check out their blazers. I asked one of the sales reps if they had a solid blue blazer and he told me that the did from ther sienna line. It had the red lining With a ticket pocket and if I remember was priced at $399. Does anyone know if this was a suit separate or is there now a blazer? Did not see anything online
Alterations are extra.
Their webstore isnt exactly a great representative of the selection they have in the stores. Speaking the stores one thing I did notice is they basically only have one particular style in each size. For example, the 38R section would have say 25 different suits in different cuts but no duplicates.
I don't know about SS store specifically, but I've seen a lot of other retailers do this as a strategy: so it looks like you have to buy it or t might get away. Case in point - we recently got a Cucinelli outlet here in Orlando, and an SA took me in the back to see some items not yet available for sale; for every one item out on the floor there were a dozen or more in the back. Trust me, the store looks nice and sparse, but the back is literally overflowing. And she even said they had a warehouse in proximity that was stacked to the gills. Oh my.
The Sienna blue sportcoat is in-store only and not available online.
My tailor and I agree with this. I'd say my tailor has a very keen eye and noticed the balance is off on my Washington. Not terribly off where it looks horrid, but another keen eye would probably pick it up.
Thanks for the reply. I still don't know if I like the red lining
Anyone have comments on the shoulders on the Jort suits? I've been told they are bunched up looking because it's all hand done and a sign of that. I've been around here a while and have never seen anything like that.
I tried on a the Jort in-store and while the fabric and cut was pretty nice I was not a fan at all of the pleats in the shoulder. Despite the shoulder dimples being some sort of tailoring tradition I personally have never seen that before on a suit.
+1. I took it off and handed it back almost immediately. Did not like the shoulders at all.
They just released there F/W line that you can preorder on the website FYI if anyone was interested. Might preorder a couple full wool suits.

But don't like them as much as the current or past collections.
Few nice things in there
The Minsk double breasted suit looks nice; there are also some nice plaid jackets in there.
I hope they add some flannels. Plus there's too many washington cuts for my liking
