Tried new Charles jeans with a straight leg and high rise. Liked them so much, I ended up buying all colors.
I am surprised they have real sizing here - I.e. 30 inch waist is exactly 30 inches

You may want to wash a pair and see how much it shrinks. There was a user that experienced a lot of shrinkage. You can read the posts some pages ago. Don't you find the leg opening a bit too small?

They say fabric is pre washed. Also leg opening is a bit too big, but that's the style

I know, but that user still reported significant shrinkage. I personally find the leg opening a 1-2 cm too small compared to knee and thigh.

thanks for letting me know! I found that message and double checked the fit on me - 1-2 cm shrinkage through the waist should make them ideal for me.
I've been looking for a good fitting jeans for years now and couldn't find anything. The leg on these is a bit too wide for my liking and 2 sizes smaller had a much better fitting leg. But they are the best fitting jeans I've had seen so far, so hopefully some shrinkage will make them even better.
P.S. I'd prefer them to have a zipper instead of a button fly

So, is this a mature brand now? When does everyone think the honeymoon phase was over?

For me I'd say right before COVID

The collections are pretty boring these days.
True, I agree. The last couple of seasons I noticed a trend to feature more relaxed styles for sure. And adding some things you would never see before on the front page, such as A-shirts.

Also the occasional peacocking flare represented by Jort is sorely missing these days

I believe this is their 25th year in business. A lot has happened since the beginning. Many styles have come and gone.

Have they decelerated new store openings? The US had a pretty decent pace about 10 years ago. Most large Metro areas in the US are covered at this point, and then people probably buy more stuff online anyway. I know I do. I hate doing returns, but sometimes that's the price you pay if you are gambling with measurements. The custom fit program I've been using the last couple of years can be hit or miss, even if you specify up to a half-centimeter like I did with my waist measurements recently. It didn't come back to me the way I felt it would fit, but close enough that I'm not returning.

I'm using their custom program as well and I can say that for shirts is pretty good, out of 4 shirts, only one had chest and waist measurements smaller by 0.5 cm. Trousers seem to be a hit or miss in thigh and hips, I don't know why, maybe because of pleats. For jackets, most measurements seem to be on point with some minimal exceptions in chest and waist. They recently changed the master garment to Havana and some measurements need to be adjusted.

What's your experience with custom trousers?

I think SS is certainly more mature. No need for racy ads anymore and their fits are more versatile today. SS is by far and away the industry leader in quality product at a realistic price point for many and their customer service is unparalleled.
