I find it quite surprising how Suitsupply did 180 and went from skinny to over sized and in case of current outerwear, quite boxy, straight from 80s-90s

I was in Suitsupply on Madison Ave yesterday and FW has hit the shelves. TBH I'm a little underwhelmed - much prefred their Spring/Summer this year.

I am quite disappointed with the lack of texture and patterns in their collections. It has been a while since I saw something I wanted to buy from them

Yes exactly I desire more rustic looks for FW. Stopped into Proper Cloth after and they had some nice sports coats from VBC and Di Pray.

I have also kept an eye on the recent FW releases and have found them conservatively styled, as echoed previously on the direction they have taken post-pandemic. However, their fabrics seem nice as usual, including some lovely cashmere and camel pieces.

I also really enjoy more rustic options for FW and closely watch Spier & Mackay. They always have a wide selection of rustic fabrics for both RTW and MTO as previously mentioned. Cavour has some, but they also lean conservative in style/patterns with occasional exceptions, but their reputation is excellent in quality. NMWA typically has tweed offerings every year albeit a tier more expensive than SS due to full canvassing and handmade features from Italian houses. Ralph Lauren also features rustic designs as well as Drake’s. And while the selection is usually smaller, if you’re looking for something cheaper, J.Crew sometimes has a gem or two from reputable mills such as Moon but occasionally Magee.

All good suggestions. I also spent a couple hours trolling ebay tn by searching the mills that caught my eye and my size. Promising results.

Any word of an outlet this year?

What happens to seasonal suits that dont sell out? Where do these go?

Also a side question, I am in between a 36s and a 38s for double breasted suits (38s for single breasted). A 36s fits me better for length, but too tight. A 38s fits well, bt a bit long. Is it easier/possible to make one shorter or better to get a 36s and somehow make it looser?

There will never be another outlet is what I have been told for years from SS employees. They changed the model during Covid and now only produce smaller amounts of the seasonal and bolder things. This prevents them from having extra inventory needed for an outlet.

Easier/cheaper to let the 36s out a little.

Outlet items can be found in 2 physical stores in The Netherlands and until recently also in an online shop called Otrium. But they stopped with Otrium couple of months ago.
