Suit/Tailor Advice Please: Much Appreciated

Hello, Got my first suit for a few interviews coming up. Received it as a gift so can't return it, hopefully I won't get ripped apart too badly on forums in terms of fit. I come in search for recommendations on what I should tell my tailor (aside from sleeve/pant shortening), as well as a tailor itself, in the NYC area (anywhere in manhattan). I'm somewhat on a budget and would like to spend less than $70 total in alterations if possible. The definitive tailor guide seems pretty outdated with many mixed opinions. Thank You very much!

It actually looks pretty damn good for a gift. I like the shoulders of the jacket (might be slightly wide for you though), but it's not terribly noticeable. The only thing I'd change right now is the sleeve length.

For interviews/first suit, it's perfectly fine. Shorten the sleeves and you are good to go. Save your alterations money for future clothing purchases.

Yup. Sleeves are easy.

I think the shoulders look fine, it's probably the angle of the photo that makes the shoulder look wider.

As it's been said, get you sleeves taken up, make sure you're wearing a shirt that fits you well when the tailor is measuring how much to take up.

Ah yes, considering I'll be going to a budget tailor, what would the forum recommend?

Really not too bad; just focus on the sleeves and you're set. Easy enough job.

For off the rack it's not bad. The chest is a touch big and the ass a touch small. I'd bet the barn that your hip measures a size bigger than your chest. The shoulders are close, so without doing mtm and sliming the chest, that's about the best you can expect for a free suit. Good luck with the interviews.

Sleeves usually should be adjusted to fall at the wrist. There should be about 1/2 inch of your shirt cuff showing when properly adjusted.

It also looks like there is a huge drop from upper to lower torso, does it feel comfortable when the jacket is closed?
