I like that look in a more casual style and setting. I remember the first time I saw somebody wear that was when Michael Skakel(the Martha Moxley Killer) was arrested and I thought "Hey, I like that look." IMO the guy above is dressed too uptown to wear that zip.

Yes, for causal it's a sure fire hit. But with a suit, I'm not so sure. So I'm curious of the impression it makes. PS-I am the guy above and I am uptown I think or is that old towne

The only place I have seen that look is in the STP catalog.

It looks wrong to me because the tie and suit are so elegant. If it keeps you comfortable in the Chicago cold I would wear it but with those particular items it looks odd.

I wouldn't do it with a suit but love it with a cashmere or tweedy sportcoat. It works even better with my full-zip sleeveless vests because you don't have the extra material in the arms that tend to restrict your movement more. Looks like your sleeves are too tight in that pic. Get a zip vest and you're set.

I'm holding a camera straight out and at head level. It's not nearly as tight as it might appear.

I'm not a fan of it (although I like each of the components).

Are you wary of the zipper snagging your tie?

Actually no at least not with this sweater/zipper and this tie I don't think it would happen unless you were quite careless.

I think that you look like a putz. You have that ridiculous Euro-trash look like always. It looks to me like you are a striver. Are you?

Don't you have anything better to do? Is your life so lame that you get your jollies by writing inane comments on online MBs? You might actually aggravate me if you weren't so pathetic and worthy of pity rather than contempt.

Just ignore him, he'll get tired of it eventually.

Soph: I think you're better off with the tried and true v-neck sweater or cardigan. The zipper just battles with the formality of the tie and suit too much.
