What does everyone do with their suit jackets after your pants go? I have about 3 suits where the jackets are fine but the pants are no longer wearable [IMG]

    1. I guess this answers the questions someone posted about ordering one or two sets of pants with a suit.
    2. It also brings the question of: hot to determine if a suit jacket makes a good odd jacket or not.
I have read different suggestions on the forum, but not a definitive answer. (stripes / checks would make a bad odd-jacket / sport coat? Lenght of it?)

The easiest way would be, if your jacket resembles odd jackets you have seen for sale, it would be okay. The material is most important - plain, check/plaid, windowpane, herringbone, tweed are going to be better. A worsted pinstripe or chalkstripe is not going to work. Donate it to the AJ crowd.
