Suit jackets - do you wear them buttoned or unbuttoned?

I always wear a 2-piece single breasted 3 button suit and I prefer to keep my suit jacket unbuttoned. It looks and feels better.

How many of you who wear 3 button suits also like to keep your suit jackets unbuttoned. Let's have a poll.

Strictly speaking all coats should be kept buttoned unless you are wearing a waistcoat underneath.

Definitely should be buttoned. The coat is styled and fitted for when it is buttoned. You will always look better in a jacket that is buttoned (if it fits you properly).

I go both ways on this one. My coats are tight enough through the middle that they do not seem overly large unbuttoned.

-I absolutely agree with this. I think it looks really bad to be wandering around w/a jacket unbuttoned flapping around, etc.

Buttoned standing; unbuttoned sitting. Buttoning and unbuttoning should become a reflex action on standing and sitting.

There is a solution to the issue of buttoning the coat: wear three piece lounge suits or get yourself a waistcoat seperately.
