Hello,

I have recently moved to the seaside town of Aberystwyth (UK), and I am struggling to find a tailor to perform some alterations to a couple of new RTW suit jackets.

I have searched the forum, but have been unable to find a suitable answer to my query.

Does anybody happen to have any suggestions as to a tailor who could undertake these alterations, through the post?

Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Do you need the sleeve shortened from the end (very easy) or from the shoulder (difficult but usually only necessary if you have working cuff buttons)? Shortening jacket sleeves from the end is simple. I'd suggest going to any local store that sells men's clothing and asking them where they have their tailoring done. Another option is to try your local dry cleaner--at least in the United States, most dry cleaners offer simple alteration services.

Edit: just googled "aberystwyth tailor" and came up with Alan's Alterations?

How important is full vs half canvas to you for heavier sport jackets?
