I just looked at Hickey Freeman and BrooksBrothers and it looks like they both don't make size 37 suits or sport coats. Banana republic as well. Is this common?

They want you to just buy a 38 and have it tailored. Or squeeze into a 36. Many companies avoid those odd sizes.

Yes and 2 is the odd prime. Damn them and their evenist attitude.

Some companies do manufacture odd sizes such as 39, 41, 43. They usually only come in regular and in their year round fabrics.

Usually something that would have to be special ordered.

Brooks has made 37s in the past. Usually they show up online but a store may be able to source one for you.

I think they ignore 34, too :-(

Okay, that's probably a children's size, but I'm no kid!

Maybe you could add or lose weight/ mass depending on which better enhances your physique in a couple months.

This is such a problem (unless you have deep pockets) that I simply moved up to a 38, actually this was a side benifit to my main goals. So now I'm happy with both my size and ability to readily purchase fitting clothes... Just a thought.

Or you can buy loose fitting 36's or slim cut 38's, may take some trial and error, but you likely could get it to work.

I agree, the slim cut 38 suits would be your best option. There certainly are some 38's out there that will fit like a 37.
