Suit from 95% Lambswool / 5% Cashmere Cloth?

Worried about trouser durability given that lambswool is typically deemed suitable only for sportcoatings (the inclusion of cash doesn't help). Thoughts? - its 13oz., so at least its not a lightweight.

Thanks,
Gramm

IMHO 5% cashmere is more marketing then anything else.

I'm sure somebody will come by to explain how it's weaved etc will matter more then anything.

Maybe ask in the tailors thread so they'll see it.

Anyone have an opinion on the durability of 13oz. lambswool for trousers? I'm well aware of the properties of cashmere.

I asked Edwin at Steed about the possibility of a suit out of something from Harrison's Moonbeam (which is i think 75/25 lambswool/wool) and he strongly recommended against it. Great stuff for sportscoats though.

Thanks for the message. I believe (happy to be corrected if wrong) that Moonbeam's angora content is what makes it a definite no-no for trousers.

Ah you're absolutely right - it's lambswool and angora. I should not be trying to recite these things from memory. I don't know if that's why it can't be used for trousers, but you're right on the mix.
