Should I be buying size 38 instead of 36 (regular or short, I'm 5 foot 9?)? How is length and shoulders? Anything else wrong with fit? Haven't brought it to a tailor yet, so i know sleeves are too long and should probably be taken in a bit at the waist. Thanks!

Sleeves are too long, but you knew that. Shoulders might be too wide but hard to tell.

My pictures aren't the best, but I was afraid the shoulders were too small. If I can describe it, from wearing the suit, my shoulder seems to come out a bit further than than the end of the suit shoulder. So, if I were to lean against a flat surface, my actual shoulder would probably touch first, although not by much. Would that make the shoulder too small?

Not necessarily. As long as you're not getting any weird divots I wouldn't worry too much about it.
