Hi guys, I just bought this Ben Sherman suit from the Rack and was wondering what you guys thought regarding the fit, especially on the shoulders and chest, as well as the length of the jacket overall. I know the sleeves might be an inch too long and I was thinking about getting the waist taken in a little too. But other than that please let me know if there is anything else I should consider.

Also can anyone comment on this brand and its quality? I liked the suit for its slimmer fit and design and it only cost a bit over $300 which was within my price range. Where there any other brands I should look in to?

The tag says its a Ben Sherman Kensington fit suit that measures 38s.v

The fabric and construction looks non-expensive. But, for $300 it's reasonable. As a result of this you can see the shoulders are a bit puffy and bulgy, rather than having handmade stitching or the quality fabric under the shoulders, which would help emphasize your natural shoulders a bit more rather than the padding. The shoulders look really stiff, and from the back the suit's shoulders look too wide for you.
I think the sleeve length is a just a little big long. It's too close to the bottom of your thumb.
And the arm holes are quite large. It would look better if the arm holes were a bit slimmer fitting around your arms. I think there's more potential for a better fit for you in a suit that would show your natural body more.

It's quite plain too, being just black, or is that what you were after ? (for a specific purpose).

Otherwise it's fine. For $300 you can't expect the world.

I tried on a Ben Sherman suit at the rack recently and it was the same way. No shape to the suit. The sides are easily brought in but the arms being big is a pain to get fixed. It was very boxy even for it's "slim fit".

Other than the wrinkles on the underarm in you rear pictures, I think it looks great on you. I can't really tell fabric quality from the not clear pics but it looks OK as well.

It really slims you down and gives you an athletic look to qualities I always look for when buying my suits.

Regards,
Don

+1. Looks that way from the front, too.

The sleeves are an easy fix, but the shoulders aren't. Did you try on smaller size?

Thanks for the replies. After thinking it over, i figure i might just go with a TaT suit since it would only be a couple of dollars more and I hear good reviews. Maybe the conservative cut or something.
