Relatively new to fashion, and recently had to purchase a couple new suits for work. While I love the way they fit when I’m standing, I’ve noticed these weird creases/divots near my armpits when I’m sitting down and move my hands/arms closer to my body. Sounds weird, I know, but when I started paying attention to others on television, I realized their suits were not doing the same as mine.

I attached a photo to visually explain my issue. I noticed a few of my other blazers are doing the same. I brightened the picture to help illuminate the creases.

Is this simply a case of something I need to get tailored to fix? Does the suit need to be dry cleaned/pressed? I’m not sure what’s causing it because the issue seems to only come while I’m sitting, not standing.

Part of my job involves television hits, so I’m trying to look as good as I can. Last thing I want is an ill-fitted suit. Not sure if this is just a fabric thing, and the suit looks fine, or I’d theres a problem that needs to be attended to.

Thanks so much for the help

Could be a little too much drape in the chest area. Not much can be done about that by an alterations tailor. Next time you are shopping for a suit, try sitting down as you are in the photo.

But one place you should have a divot is your tie knot.
