Suit Critique

Was going to enter this in the Friday vintage contest, but then I realized I only had one vintage thing (woven tie). Also, the sweater sleeves messed up the shirt cuffs. Not to mention the poor choice of background.

How's the fit? The jacket is supposed to be short.

Hard to tell until you button it. One thing that seems awkward is the angle the suit sleeves make with the shirt cuffs.

I think the back is a problem. Can a tailor clean up the material under the arms? All I had done was the sleeves.

While we're at it, should I keep this cotton jacket from LE Canvas? I've been harboring doubts about the fit. Nothing has been altered yet. The torso is cut very oddly.

The suit is simply cut far too high. The canvas jacket looks pretty solid, though. Sleeves shortened and you'd be fine; back cleaned up and you'd be golden.

I'd keep both. Take them to a good tailor and he will fix everything.
