Suit color for funeral

Hello all.

A friend recently passed away, and I would like to attend his funeral. As such, I will be wearing a suit with black shoes and a dark tie, but I’m a bit anxious if my two (applicable) suits are a tad too light in color. I would deeply appreciate it if some of you could express your opinions on the attatched options.

Blue suit is taken in daylight, and gray in dim lighting inside. The picture with the two together are in a bright spotlight.

At the moment I cannot really afford to purchase a new suit, but I will if I must. I am aware it should preferrably be charcoal, navy/midnight or black.

Thanks in advance.

Condolences on the passing of your friend. You don't need to buy a new suit. You will very likely be in the minority for wearing any suit at all. You can wear either suit with white shirt and muted tie. Be there for the memory of your friend and for his family, and don't sweat the color of your suit.

I'm sorry about your friend's passing. Either suit would be appropriate for the funeral.

My own admittedly amateur opinion is that either would be fine, and that just showing up in a suit punches your ticket.
