Have a suit where the suit collar isn't sitting flat against the shirt collar on sides of the neck and not covering shirt edges. There is a bit of a gap between them. It seems the suit leave a bigger area for the neck than other suit I have (gap too wide too open).

What can be done to fix this issue and how much will it cost?

Funny you mention that because the only way to get the suit to sit flat against shirt collar is when I wear it like Tom Ford: with shirts with big collars and buttons undone

But seriously, what needs to be done

Go to a good tailor ( not to bee confused with the alterations shop at the strip mall or cleaners )and have him take a look at it.

Added pic. Is the collar too low?

(please ignore my blood flow restrictingly tight shirt collar )

Picture only shows the problem area but doesn't show what is contributing so cannot diagnose from this pic. Need to see the entire jacket front and back. Could be your shoulder or chest shape. Jacket could be too big or too small, could be due to posture. Go to a tailor and find out what it is.

I compared the jacket with another that sits properly around my neck and it appears that the gap for the neck on this jacket is indeed wider.

It is the jacket from one of the Benjamin Lucente suits and it seems similar collar issues have been raised before.

I'll try get some better pics later, but its 1:30am so lighting is poor and I need to get to bed.
