I'm going to be in NYC next week for a few days and I would like to pick up a new suit while im in town.

I need a workhorse, (solid navy, 2 button) and I'm looking to spend around $1K or less if possible.

I've thought about going custom/MTM, but it would be pretty difficult to travel back and forth for fittings and I've had very good luck with OTR in the past with my frame/build. That being said, I'm not totally adverse to doing this.

Past suits have been Jack Victor, HSM, S. Cohen, etc. I think it's time to upgrade and I really like the fit/feel of Zegna/Canali, but they're a bit out of my price range unless I find one at a decent discount.

I don't know if I'm better off checking out places like Bloomingdales, Saks, etc or botique shops?

Any advice or suggestions as far as where / what to look for would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
