Suit brands with wide relaxed fit like 50s Cary Grant or 80s Richard Gere

Any recommendations for quality Off the Rack suit brands with a wider, more relaxed fit like 50s Cary Grant or 80s Richard Gere? I have some 90s Armani suits and love the wide, drapey, comfortable fits, tho they're not really wearable for other reasons currently.

I'm asking because I have muscular legs and the slim or even straight fits of today's suits are way too tight and uncomfortable. I know Suit Supply now has relaxed trousers but their suits only come with regular fits. Armoury's Ring suits are close, but I wouldn't mind another inch in their leg opening.

Thanks for any recommendations!

I would advise either MtM or bespoke as the zeitgeist is a regular fit or a slim fit.

MTM sites like Luxire, or Proper Cloth, or Collaro, will absolutely make trousers/suits like that. I use Luxire and most of my items are in that style. However, you have to figure out the measurements that look good on you.

I spent $1200 on a Proper Cloth suit and it was a disappointment in both quality and fit. I know they have a re-make policy but after the 2nd one they were very reluctant and discouraging of getting it right. I got fitted in their NY Soho showroom so it wasn't virtual either.

I do love getting my shirts made there tho, but for suits, something is off.

If you can get to Cambridge MA you might try The Andover Shop.
They are long-established Ivy/Trad MTM and OTR shop. If you like
that style their MTM might work for you. I went to the Armory to
look into MTM. The salesman said that he was not confident that
their MTM maker in Italy would follow the Armoury's instructions
correctly. The Andover Shop nailed it. Not inexpensive perhaps
because of the "exotic" tweed I chose. I am not usually a difficult
fit, 44-46R, but most Ring Jackets I have tried over the last ten
years in my size seem to have been designed for a Japanese jockey.

Better off asking here IMO.

I'd look into Scott Fraser Collection.

Vtg 1990s Armani suits on eBay as well.

18 East also released a slouchy suit for the summer, but it's mostly sold out.

A very surprising development...I was going through Armani's website and they now DO have their old styles. Not sure if these are temporary retro limited editions, but I hope they bring these back more permanently. They are called "Royal" line of suits.

Not sure if they are the right style/color for what I'd want, but they certainly look comfortable and fantastic. Pretty over priced but I'd have to go see them in person. Maybe the NY main showroom will have them.
