Suit + Allen Edmonds captoe (brogue)?

Can this shoe be worn with a suit; Navy or light grey. Or is it too much brogueing for a business occassion (business meetings/dinners, etc.)?? (Shoe is Chestnut color.)

Sure. You might get a couple of looks for doing so, but that's probably it.

**EDIT** I missed the part about meetings and dinners. I'd say that it might be ok for more informal meetings, but for big Client meetings or presentations/pitches you'd be better off with something either darker or with less brogueing.

The Strand is a great shoe and no one will bat an eyelid at them worn with a suit. The Evanston is ill-proportioned.

By ill-proportioned, do you mean the cap is elongated. I will admit I have not seen them in person and you being a rampant shoe aficionado, you have probably tried them on at one point. Would you say that the cap portion of the Strand is similar in proportion to the Park Ave's? I believe the "cap" of the PA's to be a bit too small, even though I do own a pair

The Strand is fantastic for 80% of business situations; especially in a darker brown (I think a dark brown is offered). As long as you have a plain black captoe on stand-by for very serious occasions you're good to go.

It's fine. A plain black captoe is more formal, for sure, but nobody is going to hold that shoe against you.

yeah, a customer might not buy bed springs from your company because you have too many holes punched in your shoe...

You know what they say, "holes in your shoes are indicative of holes in your product"....

In reality I think because the project I'm working on is for an extremely conservative client, I wouldn't go with the color or the brogueing of that Strand to a large and important meeting. It also doesn't help that I'm the most junior member at these meetings.

Other than that though, I like the shoe. I have a pair of Sanfords in the same color that I like to wear on Fridays or days when the Client is out.
