Suggestions for Work Trousers?

What kind of pants do you guys wear to work? Currently I have black and charcoal wool trousers and I need 3 more pairs of pants to complete the work week. I was planning to buy chinos, but the impression that I got from some of the posts are that chinos are a thing of the past. There isn't a strict dress code at work so I'm not forced to wear dress pants everyday.

I'm getting some good mileage from dress slacks by Zegna and Incotex and Zanella for client days and J Crew vintage cord 5 pocket jeans on more casual days. I try to get Fall colors like brown, olive, dark greens, gold, etc.

Chinos are classic, no wardrobe would be complete without a couple pairs.

You need a pair of the official SF trousers.

Classic they may be, but they are generally not a way to impress the ladies. Not saying that the sex with lesser taste matters (in the opinion of many sartorially inclined men), but it's just a fact that I hear repeated and repeated. No less sexy trousers than those khaki cotton pants. Girls who dress beautifully and girls who are beautiful share this opinion. Of course, without pleats and in darker colors can be somewhat better.

Tweed, flannel, moleskin and cord are good options for winter. Linen cotton blend is good for summer.

'tis the season for Barry Bricken cords from STP!!!

otherwise, if you're set on chinos, try some tan wool slacks instead. i think they tend to drape better and ultimately provide a better silhouette.

I'm assuming you mean this?

Can cords be worn all year long? I'm also contemplating of getting APC cords as well, but do you think that may be too stylish for work?

If they are still around and still good, I heartily recommend the work pants of Ben F. Davis Manufacturing Company in San Francisco. They really fit me well and wear like iron. They have a little "ape" insignia. The last time I bought any may be 10 years ago, and a couple of pairs are still in acceptable shape. Again, I can't say if they're still around or still good. I haven't Googled it! They're nothing fancy but honest quality and generous fit. I could order directly from them.

i've been trying to replace all my trousers with flat fronts (not for my suits, wear those with braces and pleated pants, with the exception of one suit/ lower ride pants). I've been going with Incotex from discount websites, and recently began ordering Zanellas from http://www.hansensclothing.com/displ...?id=3588&sra=1 (photos are bad, but the pants are good)

Ben Silver recently started carrying flat front trousers, and many of their store brand pants are available that way-- i really like the twills, hoping to pick up a pair next year for my herringbone jacket or chocolate colored sportcoat with tan windowpanes.

Whether they were too stylish for your work likely depends on the job in question, but I would highly doubt anyone at your work would be able to identify your cords as APC. I would recommend not going overly slim fit for work, though.

It's just an office position, but do you think the APC pair of cords would be better in terms of style and quality than the Jcrew? There is a $110 difference between the two pair of pants.

Good quality wool, e.g., Zanella or Incotex will wear much better than cord. More versatile too. You can dress down slacks with an open collar shirt, but cords just don't dress up well IMHO.

Edit: I find NWT Zanella at $110 all the time.

Can someone answer my question above?
Sure, sorry I was busy working on a car today. I find cords can be worn all year long but they are probably too warm for summer.

I get a lot of compliments from my wife on the cords and they are popular now. The J Crew ones I have have held up quite well-a good value imho.
