Suggestions for blazer with denim

Ok, I have a pair of 1947 Sugarcane dry denim and a pair of APC New Standards. I was wondering what blazer would look good with these pairs of jeans. Especially what color since I just want to have one for the weekend so I don't mind price but under 200 dollars. I'm leaning toward this Diesel blazer: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopp...roductID=21842

But I'm also thinking it might be too boring to have a navy blazer with blue jeans. What do you guys think?

That blazer looks pretty good. I was expecting something far more 'weird' looking since it was Diesel. Looks very comfortable and the blue seems to have a greyish tint to it so I'd think it look great with jeans. I also like the thinner lapels and shrunken length. For the price I would pick it up my son!

I love wearing jackets like that with jeans. Monochromatic (dark jeans / dark jacket / dark shoes) would look good and look more dressy while I think lighter jeans would look great also. I don't think you can lose with that blazer.

Those are cool sleeves also.

Well, I know many people will blast me for this "advice", but if you were bored with navy blazer with blue jeans, perhaps give white blazer a try this spring/summer.

Of coz you have a good choice with that Diesel blazer too.

When pairing with jeans, I'm a big fan of casual blazers in brown, tan, or army green/olive. I think the navy will probably work fine, though, as long as it's not *just off* the color of your jeans (sort of like matching blacks, I suppose).

I'm gonna have to buck this thread's trend and say that blazer has an abysmal fit...its waist is far too high and it pulls strangely around the button, the back is crumpled, and it seems to slid sloppily off of the model's shoulders as if it were simultaneously too tight and too big.

It looks terrible on the model but I assumed Mayday tried it on (or was going to try it) and it looked fine.

IMHO, Diesel has really gotten their act together for the last couple of seasons. Their t-shirt lines for instance were almost exclusively crap before, but now there are some really interesting designs and colorways. The price has gone up as well though

This is a great thread, and I also have been trying to find a nice blazer I could wear with jeans. Maybe you guys could post pictures of your blazers that you wear with jeans, that would really help.

I'm looking for 2 different types of blazers. Ones that are quite casual like the Diesel one above for wearing with boots. And more dressier ones that I can wear with a pair of Allen Edmonds wingtips like discussed in this post.

I usually wear dressier blazer than the "rules of streetwear" call for, if you're going that way a SB 1B velvet blazer (black is classic, plum is really nice) is a must. I'm partial to Paul Smith but loads of companies make nice blazers and you might find something great at an H&M/Zara/cheapknockoffsZrus near you.

Second the recommendation for an English velvet blazer. I have a black one, and I plan to get a Plum or a Dark green when I can find another good deal on them.

I generally stay away from dressy blazers when wearing jeans. Comes off as too plain for me these days. There's got to be some interesting details for me to wear it. Wearing a really chunky sweater underneath is always a cool spin-off.

I've got one of those Banana Rep. Savile Row-gone-mad, which is quite fun. Ticket/hacking pockets, peak lapel, etc.
Doesn't work for everyone, though.

me too. I love it, one of my fave jackets and I found it on sale for $120. It fits surprisingly well and slim and looks great with denim. "savile-row gone mad"..haha nice term. I like that.
