I'm thinking of getting a tweed hacking jacket but I am having problems deciding on the cloth. I'm looking for something versitile enough that I can wear it often and not look like I was wearing the same thing all the time. Does tweed have anything analogous to navy blue or charcoal grey? Thanks.

Gray (black & white) herringbone is a classic. A little dull, perhaps, but supremely versatile. The same pattern in brown also works, but is perhaps a little less versatile.

I would also add tan tweed herringbone to the versatile list.

I have this one, it has all the colors you may need, beige, khaki, brown, tan, green... suede patches... brown leather buttons... more versatile than that ?
