I have to be attending a funeral shortly soon.

I need a black suit in this case, but my current wardrobe only has charcoal, heather and navy.

Since this is a one-time event, what would be a good option?

The charcoal suit you already have, with a black tie.

Thanks. So white shirt + black tie? Does the neckwear have to be plain black or is subtle patterns acceptable?

I'm going with black shoes btw. no need to be a dandy for a solemn event.

Just for clarification that Ben Silver tie is a knit sock tie, not grenadine, and at $75 a bit overpriced compared to BB, Press, etc.

Charcoal is the best choice, but that rests on the assumption that the suits are solids and identical in fit and style. If, for example, the charcoal suit is Armani and the navy one Brooks Brothers, you probably should wear the navy.

Wait, is there a difference? I thought grenadine was just knit silk.
