Suggestions for a faucet mount filter

I've been using the Pur Premium faucet mount filter for the past 4 years. I'm on my second one, since the first one sprung a leak, and my second one is doing the same thing now. Time for a replacement and say so long to Pur.

I'm looking to get a filter that is:
1) more durable
2) better filtering capabilities (lead, minerals, chemicals, chlorine taste, and microorganisms).
3) lower average cost over the life of the filter since the Pur ones don't seem to last too long
4) not too large of a sunk cost (~$100 at most)

I'd strongly prefer a faucet mount design, or a countertop design. I had no problem with the taste of the Pur filter. I do not like the taste of Brita (too "carbony" even after several months). The flow rate of the Pur was OK - I'd prefer faster, but not any slower.

Any suggestions?
