I'd like to buy me a hand-crafted leather belt. I've visited the website of a French leather artisan who makes made-to-measure belts. I think I'll choose a dark brown leather but can't decide for the buckle (all his buckles are vintage)
Brass or silver nickel ?
Any suggestion ?

I'd go with silver nickel on a black belt, brass on a brown.

Thanks. I think you're right. Brass is beautiful with dark brown leather. I really like that leather color. It'll make a change from my other belts which are black.

I like their straps but their buckles do little to inspire me.

Well I think their buckles are original and distinctive. They differ in various aspects from the ordinary belt buckles you find in stores. They look much more solid. Actually, they are vintage French equestrian buckles.
I think I'll go for a dark brown , brass buckle "30" belt or maybe a dark brown laced belt ?

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
