Sadly, no, Mr. C had nothing to speak of in terms of such considerations. It too was a small family company and he thought his value outweighed the family part. He was mistaken, and ended up establishing his job-search at the very firm I had vacated to take my present role. Not sure how that story ended.

Strangely enough, I haven't pressed the issue with Mrs. T over the past eight years. We have joked about me having an "office wife" (who has sadly retired).
