C&J has a new double monk in the handgrade line on the 337. Saw it in London a few weeks back and preferred it over the Lowndes. Sorry, don't recall the model name.

I love my Lowndes. Although the 348 is a bit chiseled for some, I feel it goes great with the cap toe double monks.

The Seymour? Someone was selling these a few months back http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...ht=Double+monk I just got pair of lowndes and they are great! I think trickers and loake ( blackfriars) also make pairs.

Run of the Mill should be coming out with a great dub monk ~400 at the end of the month.

Gracias.

While the Lowndes' shape is appealing (at least to me), I find the sizing a bit funny and am just not really satisfied with the pair I have. Quality is ok, however I would go for something else. Since the brown double monk can be pretty much a staple I'd consider MTO G&G's, or something a little higher quality. You'll be happier in the long run. What size are you out of curiosity?

US 9.5. My next pair of G&Gs was going to be a Burlington or Kensington. I don't see any double monks on their site, so I assumed I wouldn't be able to get them MTO. Hrm... And you're right, I've had bad experiences with C&J sizing, so I'm a bit wary of them. meh. Monks later. Briefcase first.
