So I bought these Alden Cordovan Longwings fairly recently, and I LOVE them. They are the most beautiful shoes I have ever owned, and were instantly comfortable - thanks to some advice from the forum, I ordered a half-size small and they fit perfectly. I think they actually look better in real life than in the pic.
Now the problem is a belt. I have a problem with belts in general... I just never seem to find any I like. I look at racks of 'em in the stores and I just can get interested. They all seem either too boring or too funky.
Currently, I'm wearing the shoes with a belt from Banana Republic that has one of those solid buckles with a pin at the back that fits into the holes in the leather. Very 90s I'm afraid. But it's the only one I have that's a decent match to the shoes' color.
Alden make a matching Cordovan belt, of course, but it's $235 and I'm still recovering from the shoes.
So I'm looking for suggestions on both what style of belt to go for with the shoes, and where to find it. (I wear the shoes with a suit, or sports coat and trousers, but also with jeans, which may require different belts.)
