In my experience, the EG suede is as good as it gets. I have a pair of Newburys in their mink suede (which is dark brown), and the quality of the suede is just light years more luxurious (softer, more even, and deeper in effect) than many other suedes I've seen and felt.

JL and EG are in the same category however, and of course you are going to get the nicest materials in the upper pricing / construction echelon. Which JL, BTW? Paris (LV) or London?

Jon.

The stag suede shoes made by Crockett and Jones for Jeremy Law (www.moccasin.co.uk) are pretty darn nice.
