Frank, hang with us. You are welcome here!
Consider this proposition: If your friends all wear something like jeans, sneakers and flannel shirts perhaps you would find satisfaction in doing the same when you hang out with them......but do it BETTER, more classically than the rest. Some men learn how to look positively dashing with these simple elements - the basic principles that apply to 'classic' clothes still apply: proportion, color, texture, FIT, etc. etc.
Something to consider as a sometime option, No?

Absolutely! It´s not like i´m spending my days in a sport coat :) I wear jeans very often but tries to do this with style like you said. Jeans who fit with a nice sweater (merino or cashmere wool) or a tailored shirt.
What i meant was the ability to do both things, to know how to dress and what look good together and when to wear it. I think it´s a little boring and lack fantasy to wear jeans, sneakers and flannel shirts during the day and then the exakt same outfit when you going to someones 30 year b-day party. The tradition and knowledge how to dress proper is getting lost, guys my age don´t know how a suit should fit, or a shirt for that matter. The know one tie knot and have nerver heard about Crockett & Jones, Church´s, EG, JL or GG.
That´s why i like SF and the experience you and other have and share here.

Year round as long as it is dry.

I wear them when its not raining and I don't have to be too formal (Fridays)

And, contrary to what seems to be the belief on this thread, suede does not melt in the rain.

Those make my Grenson brogued white bucks on double leather soles look pretty sad.

DAMN YOU!! You have posted the first shoe that has actually tempted me in months!

Speaking of suede brogues, the suede on one of my pairs is slightly damaged from brushing too hard (the "hairs" are longer now). Anyway to fix this with a spray or something?
