I just got these Peal & Cos from Brooks Brothers. They had them on 50% off after Xmas.....had to bite!

Anyways, someone had mentioned earlier they thought they were made by Alfred Sargent. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure the Duke of Windsor would agree either, but I can't ask him since he has been dead for almost 40 years, and probably wouldn't return my call even if he were alive. On the other hand, I have never heard Alan state anything that would be considered contrary to what I said about suede being a casual material (not that it would change my opinion if he did).

I never stated that you couldn't wear suede shoes with a suit. It will make the outfit look a little more casual if you do, but I don't see anything wrong with that.

That's why suede oxfords are so versatile, they can be worn with just about anything because of the informality of the material and the formality of the shoe style.
