Just ordered the Alden snuff suede, flex welt chukkas from the shoe mart. Can't wait to get them. Meanwhile, a quick perusal of this entire thread gives me no definitive guide to care. So...do I need to pre-treat these shoes? What else do you do to take care of your suede footwear?

Thanks for all the great pics, just what I need-suede envy!

Funny, I'm going to to pick up a pair of these as well int he next week or so. I'm thinking they're a good - and safe - bet for my first pair of suede shoes. I'm torn between the snuff and dark brown, they both look great but I think the dark brown may be more versatile. I'll probably get whichever looks the most different from my chestnut RM Williams.

Spray them down with a suede protector like the kiwi stuff, should be able to get it at Target or shoe store. They have other brands at shoe repair places.

To clean you need a suede brush, I have one with an eraser on one side, that will get a lot of nicks off the suede. There are a few videos on care available on youtube as well.
