The whole time I was photo'ing those and uploading them, I kept thinking, "make sure you put in Ilford II or someone will nail you on it." Of course, I go and forget it and someone nails me on it.

Yea, those are the Ilford II. They are lighter and less waxy than the standard Ilford suede. I'll try and take a more realistic color photo this week.

On another note, but related, Steve at Herring Shoes was a real gentleman and answered my questions quickly and concisely. Wouldn't hesitate to order from these guys again.

not mine. the interesting thing about the chukka crowd: the blobbier, the better. just a few are going crazy for the elegant vass versions. horses for courses.
