A friend asked me to recommend him a similar pair for a decent price. Found this pair of Boss Black, are they crap quality?

I bought these Heschung waterproof suede shoes with Dainite-like soles in Paris at the beginning of a month long trip around Europe in December 2005. I walked everywhere in them. These were the most comfortable shoes imaginable. I am a big fan of rubber soles and can say that dark suede can stand up to rain and snow with no problem.

I think these are the ideal blend of comfort with classic style for a jacket and tie yet casual enough for everyday wear and jeans. I want another pair!

Thank you

The dk brown derbies? They're C&J Worcester with a 'Micro' (?) rubber sole on the 341 last. For some reason they're slightly longer than my other shoes on the same last in the same size (Bradford and Westfield).

I also tried to order the Dartmouth in dk brown suede, which is very similar but with a leather sole and on - IMO - one of C&J's best lasts: 318 (I have it in black calf). Unfortunately Pediwear don't have it anymore and I haven't seen it in catalogues for the last couple of seasons.

Thanks! I dig the simplicity. I used to have a pair of JL Pierson's just like them, but had to sell for fit issues.

Really like both. I have a Chiltern in snuff on my way from Bodiley's. Was worried about the blobby shape but yours look very nice.
