1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Just wanted to share another view of the brown suede oxfords from GF. Taken with my iPhone under cloudy morning skies. They have a lot of character under different lighting:

Here's my incoming MTO pair from Skoak. GG Gable, TG73 last, size 9G. Polo suede, racing green lining. Polo seems like a relatively common make-up for the Gable.

Lol! This thread could become dangerous; I love suede! Might need to unsubscribe. But these suckers are on sale.....and free shipping....just sayin'

I really like how these "change" character under different lighting. Right now, in my office, they are a deep chocolate brown but as you can see, under cloudy skies, they lighten up. When/if the sun comes out today, I'll take another picture.

See, @jcmeyer I foretell your slippery slide to suede nirvana based on my own experience

Having always been a suede fan, needing no encouragement, I bought these from @Afinepairofshoes these today. Happy days indeed :D

Not only the lighting, they tend to get a little lighter after a year or two :)
My favorite pair of Carmina is very similar chocolate captoe oxford on Alcudia last. I wore it pretty hard for 3 years went through a recent re-sole and still looks great (and bit lighter than newer stock)

Kindly let me know (or drop me a quick line via PM, email, phone or text) if you are planning on visiting this weekend ;)
Store maybe closed few hours due to family visiting from out of town.

But we do offer hassle free returns as well and have few pairs of UK6 in stock!

(also a forest last split toe derby in scotchgrain / dainite combo in UK6 which is not on the website right now)
    Cheers!

    Cross posting from GentlemensFootwear.com thread:

Hello folks, I had an offline conversation with Steve about getting a suede boot for the fall. I want to check in here for interest in doing something. Let me know if there is any interest in the following (Carmina) or feel free to propose a makeup you would like to see.

    - Polo (or snuff) wingtip boot, dainite or commando
    - Polo captoe, dainite or commando
    - chocolate tanker

    Cheers!

I really wish I didn't find this thread. I just sold my only pair of brown calfskin shoes, and am now tempted to go chocolate suede before filling the gap with calf. Suede just seems so much more versatile than calf.
