I found on a model of higher-end (near $1k retail) shoes, which came in both calf-leather and suede options:
While the calf-leather version was made with a full leather inner lining, the suede variant was only partly leather lined around the top/visible area, with all the rest interior being textile (canvass?).
Can anyone say whether there could be any legitimate technical reason for this (e.g suede being for summer, better breathability/lightness etc.) - or can it only be for cost-cutting purposes?
Thanks.
