Suede Shoe Help

I ordered these shoes from Banana Republic (I know not the best quality, but seemed to be decent for the price I paid....and I am impatient so waiting on the great AE finds etc took too long)

When I opened the box I was a bit disappointed. The suede is worn on them already on the front, side, and top of one of the shoes. No question they are going back, but I am contemplating exchanging them or getting my money back. Your advise is greatly appreciated.

My questions:

1. Is this normal wear? Obviously not for new shoes it is not.
2. Does the suede seem thin ie "cheap"? I have never owned suede shoes before.

Pictures below. Thanks again to everyone for your help.

If you bought them through BR, send 'em back. They look like floor models or returns. A brush might be able to get some of the nap back, but that one toe cap looks awful.

This is pretty common with suede shoes after they get rattled around during shipping. I've always been able to get the nap up without trouble, but I've not bought cheap suede in a long time.

Oh wait, yes I have. I buy suede shoes for my son. He wears the suede down at the toe. It comes back pretty good after I wipe them with a wet cloth. So I bet you can get this suede back into shape.

You can buy a suede brush. One side is rubbarized for sort of light buffing and the other side is stiffer for more extreme buffing.

This may sound dumb, but is the suede worn off these, or simply matted down? Do you think a suede brush would do the trick?

NVM - I got a brush and fixed them like new. Thanks for the help.
