Suede Shoe Collection: Starting Point

I have recently begun improving my dress shoe collection and have amassed the following (Cole Hann Black Captoe, Meermin Dark Brown Captoe, Meermin Light Brown Wingtip, Meermin Black Wholecut, and Meermin Dark Brown Semi-Brogue). With Spring/Summer around the corner I would like to get a few pairs of Suede shoes to wear with jeans/chinos/shorts and occassionally a suit. Looking for ideas of what styles to get and what brands offer quality while being less than $200 each. I'm thinking a tan oxford and dark brown loafer and decent starting points, any ideas?

Take the $400 and get one good quality pair

What would you recommend?
For just about a hundred dollars more, you could get a pair of Aldens or Crockett and Jones. These could be found at J Crew or Ben Silvers or any other site that sells these brands..

For $400 I would look at Brooks Brothers, however I would wait for their March 14th sale and get those that are normally $498 which will end up being about $430.

In the $400 range you could get a pair of Carminas from their webshop or from a retailer like skoaktiebolaget. Their value for money crushes brooks brothers imo.

Is anything in the $200 range just going to be crap? Granted I won't wear them nearly as often as my other dress shoes but I'd still like something of decent quality.

That's the point.

Why get two at $200 which you aren't going to wear very often.

Just get one of a higher quality.

Yes the difference between $200 and $400 can be rather significant.

The Carmina suggestion would be the one to go with out of those mentioned so far.

Likely yes.

If you like your meermins and you're capped on price then why not try another pair. They're the only brand I know of that offer some semblance of quality at that price point. My info is likely lacking though. You might be able to get some alden seconds or something for 200.
